As an insurance professional, agents are responsible for building relationships with perspective clients to identify risks and provide affordable insurance solutions. The agent oversees the entire customer experience from underwriting to payment to claims to renewal. Successful agents are patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative. They love to talk and can put themselves in their customers’ shoes and advocate for them when necessary.

Hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (8:45 am - 5:15 pm) and Wednesday (8:45 am - 12:15 pm)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish customer relationships and network for new relationships
• Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service, including responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
• Engage with customers to hear their story and use a needs-based review process to identify risks and provide affordable insurance solutions.
• Educate customers about their insurance options and clearly explain their elections.
• Obtain and maintain all required customer signatures and documentation.
• Assist customers as appropriate with loss mitigation and the claims process.
• Successfully obtain and maintain insurance licensing and credentialling, including all continuing education requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent communication skills – via phone, email, and in-person
• Demonstrated business acumen via understanding profit & loss and risk management
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, video conferencing and online programs
• Enjoys working with people, both customers and co-workers
• Proactive and Creative problem solving skills
• Bilingual – Spanish (preferred)
• Property and Casualty license (must be able to obtain)
